King Tents is the first manufacturer to design a bell tent cover made entirely of PVC. The idea has used many years experience from hiring, manufacturing and selling PVC marquees which continues to operate as DIY Marquees, a trading division of C & D King Ltd. The same 500gsm Duracoretex PVC material used in commercial grade marquee roofs & sides is used for Kingtents PVC bell tents.
1) PVC is inherently waterproof. Using PVC means that the covers do not need re-proofing whereas cotton canvas material requires a new layer of waterproof liquid to be applied at least once a year, therefore using PVC reduces costs in the long term.
2) Duracoretex PVC is UV-stabilized. Stabilizers absorb UV radiation and dissipate it as heat energy acting like sun cream for the material reducing material fade.
3) Duracoretex PVC is Rip-stop. PVC is made starting with a woven mesh and plastic layers are coated on top. Rip-stop means that one in every 10 threads of the material is thicker than the others so should a tear occur it is more likely to stop ripping.
4) PVC has a laminate finish making the material easier to wipe clean and dry off.
